The cachaça from Brazil, the best-selling spirit to make caipirinha, the national drink of Brazil. Burned in a sugar cane liquor factory in a suburb of São Paulo. The factory was founded in 1909 and at that time still distributed soft drinks, syrup and vinegar. Only in the 1930s Paschoal D'Abronzo began working with a distributor and filled alcohol. He initially sold liquor in 100 and 200l barrels. His son came up with the idea to turn the barrels into smaller 750 ml bottles. They revolutionized the market in the 40s. The competition did not sleep, but the family business prevailed. Today, the cachaça is still stored in large wooden barrels, which may contain about one million liters per barrel. One of the main exporters of cachaças in Brazil is the association of the beverage industry Tatuzinho3 Fazendas Ltda..
