Storage for the special note

Tyrconnell has some special Single Malt Whiskeys in their assortment. In order to give them their unique character, they are matured in oak casks and for a few months in special casks after the usual maturing period. Depending on the whisky, the Whiskey matures in Madeira, sherry or, as in the case of the 10 YO Port, port wine casks.

Nosing

You can experience the maturation immediately in Tyrconnell Port Finish 10 YO. First, pleasant sweet aromas of caramel and honey rise into the nose, rounded off by a hint of vanilla. The fruity base is directly below. Intense and at the same time pleasant, it presents its post-ripening in former port wine casks.

Taste

Tyrconnell Port Finish 10 YO is very gentle on the tongue right from the start. The palate is enmeshed with its easily accessible combination of aromas, which immediately inspires. According to its storage it shows itself above all fruity, but also sweet notes of honey and some oak wood and malt proves that it is a real Tyrconnell.

Finish

This varied yet immediately pleasant composition is rounded off by a charming finish. The finish is long lasting and shows once again that the Irish single malt whiskey has its roots in Ireland - the Single Malt reveals some oak refined with spices.
