Tullamore Dew 12 years is a Blend of three different Irish Whiskeys: Pot Still, Malt and Grain Whiskey, which all age between 12 and 15 years. The Blended Whiskey is aged in Bourbon and Sherry casks, which gives it a complex aromatic composition. Pot Still and Malt Whiskeys have a higher proportion than Grain Whiskey, which creates a particularly fine Irish Blend.Tullamore Dew 12 is filled with a mild 40 % vol.

Aroma

The aroma of Tullamore Dew 12 shows a medium intensity. As soon as the bottle is opened, malty and spicy notes rise into the nose, accompanied by a hint of citrus. Nuances of burnt wood join in, which are balanced by fine vanilla, a sweet nutiness and discreet Christmas biscuits.

Flavor

Tullamore Dew 12 places itself on the tongue with a full and gentle body. Woody undertones are noticeable at first, but are quickly replaced by a skillful spice. Also the sweet nutiness, that the Blend gets by the Olosoro Sherry barrels, is present in the sip.

Finish

In the finish Tullamore D.E.W. Special Reserve 12 years is especially long and intense. Citrus and sherry come out wonderfully, as well as the fine marzipan notes, which have been kept until the end.
