Yamazaki 12 YO 0.7L (43% Vol.)
Yamazaki 12 YO
The valley of the Yamazaki at Tennozan Mountain on the island of Honshu was the birthplace of this Japanese whisky in 1923. Today, the Suntory Yamazaki 12 years offers a great taste of tradition, accompanied by sophistication and complexity. The special Single Malt matures in three different cask types: American, Spanish and Japanese oak casks. Sherry was previously stored in Spanish oak casks and Bourbon in American oak casks. The subsequent marriage gives Yamazaki 12 an unmistakable and complex character. The Single Malt Whisky is bottled with a rather mild 43% vol. and served in a classic elegant 0.7L bottle.
Aroma
The soft body of the whisky is already reflected in the aroma. Strong vanilla surrounds the senses and is paired with hearty dried fruits. Fine honey rounds off the aroma.
Flavor
The taste of Yamazaki 12 Whisky is particularly delicate and mild. A subtle sweetness lies with the dry body on the palate, rounded off by winter spice. In addition there are fine citrus tips, which are balanced by tropical fruits. A hint of rum completes the taste experience.
Finish
The finish of the single malt is medium long. Also here the cask storage of the Yamazaki 12 years once again comes to the fore and inspires with full fruit notes and rich oak. Grated lemon peel in combination with discreet spice provides an exciting and skillful balance.
