The 12-year-old Macallan belongs to the 'Triple Cask' series of the Scottish manufacturer. This series has replaced the old "Fine Oak" series of the Macallan distillery and inspires with even more complexity than its forerunner. The single malt whisky has matured in both European and American sherry barrels as well as American ex-Bourbon barrels, which has given it a wonderful deepness and a very balanced character. Macallan Triple Cask 12 years is bottled at 40% vol. and is served in a beautifully shaped 0.7L bottle.

Aroma and taste

Already in the nose Macallan Triple Cask 12 years convinces with its complexity. Spicy vanilla shows itself in wonderful harmony with fruity melon and is balanced by zesty, but subtly kept lemon peel.
On the tongue the vanilla presents itself again, which is now however more strongly connected with the lemon. The ripening in the different barrel types is also noticeable here. Lightly roasted oak. Spicy tips of nutmeg and a slight ginger spiciness round off the taste experience.

Finish

In the finish Macallan Triple Cask 12 years is long and fruity. Melon and papaya harmonize and are rounded off by fresh oak.
