Macallan Double Cask 12 YO

The Scottish distillery took special care of the Macallan 12 years (Double Cask). The Single Malt is completely aged in sherry casks of American and European oak. Especially for Macallan, the American oak casks were filled with sherry and then used for the maturation of the excellent liquid. The colour of the 12-year-old Macallan Double Cask Whisky is reminiscent of liquid, deep gold and is wonderfully presented by the elegant 0.7L bottle.

Nosing

In the nose, Macallan Double Cask 12 YO impresses with a creamy and sweet aroma that reminds of butterscotch, candied orange and fully ripe apple. Fine accents of vanilla and oak balance the spicy aroma.

Tasting

Macallan Double Cask 12 years is especially balanced on the palate and round. Discreet honey paired with wonderful citrus nuances, raisins and caramel bring sweetness and some clever spice into play at the same time. In addition to the sherry elements, which are expressed, for example, by the raisins, the cask storage is also reflected in the skillful oak aroma.

Finish

The finish is long-lasting, dry and warming. Macallan Double Cask 12 years is very refined with a slightly sweet oakwood finish.
