Scorpions Beer 0,5L (4,8% Vol.)
Scorpions Beer
AC/DC did it, Iron Maiden too - now the rock band Scorpions from Hanover has launched its own beer! Together with the Bavarian Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren they have developed a Pale Lager. You can order it from us in 0.5 liter bottles.
Taste and appearance
The Pale Lager, which was personally presented by the band at the Hard Rock Café in Hamburg, impresses with its typical golden color, medium hop drive and has a mild yet soft taste. It contains water, barley malt and hops, combined with 4.8% vol. to create a slightly drinkable taste. The hops used are Hallertauer Herkules and Hallertauer Select. The master brewer Bernd Trick personally supervised the development of the beer, which was brewed in accordance with the German Purity Law.
Production
The Scorpions have opted for a pale, bottom-fermented lager. This type of beer has been around since the 14th century and was developed in Bavaria, as brewing was banned in 1539 due to an increased risk of fire, but at the same time beer was becoming scarce. The beer was now brewed at low temperatures and with bottom-fermenting yeast and then stored.
Bottom-fermenting yeast is yeast that works at cold temperatures between 4 and a maximum of 9 degrees, i.e. it brews the beer.
Kaufbeuren stock brewery
The Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren brewery has been in existence since 1308 and was recognized as the world's best beer in 2018 (Supreme Champion Beer). The brewery has been based in Kaufbeuren since the Middle Ages and is the last brewery that is representative of Kaufbeuren's brewing tradition. It has been owned by the Walch family since 1799. The combination of tradition and modernity, of a delicious beer that is reinterpreted and packaged in modern bottles, is the philosophy of this traditional company.
