Säntis Malt Swiss Alpine Whisky Edition Himmelberg 0,5L (43% Vol.)
Säntis Malt Swiss Alpine Whisky Edition Himmelberg
The Himmelsberg Edition is the fourth standard bottling of Säntis Malt Swiss Alpine Whiskies and, like its predecessors, is of the highest quality.
History
The Säntis Malt Swiss Alpine Whisky Edition Himmelberg is a single malt produced in Switzerland at the Locher distillery. At Locher, the quality of the products has always been a priority. That's why it was also named distillery of the year in 2011. Like the previous editions of this series, the Himmelsberg edition is named after a nearby mountain in Switzerland.
Production
In the production of the Himmelberg Edition of Säntis Malt Swiss Alpine Whisky, Locher also relied on its time-honored tradition. As usual, the spring water for the production comes from the Alpine mountains. A special feature that gives this whisky its extraordinary taste is the storage in beer barrels and then the transfer into wine barrels. Among them are Merlot, Port and Sherry casks.
Taste
The taste spectrum of Säntis Malt Swiss Alpine Whisky Edition Himmelberg is mainly characterized by two different flavors. The initial, slightly fruity note is surprisingly replaced by a delicate spice. Pear, ginger, pepper, vanilla, red fruit and beer notes are clearly distinguished in taste. A slightly woody note also distinguishes this whisky. Finally, the Edition Himmelsberg says goodbye with a long, spicy finish.
