Portofino Dry Gin
History
The Portofino Dry Gin was made in honour of Klaus Pudel. He helped to save the small fishing village of Portofino from destruction during the Second World War. That small fishing village can also be seen on the beautiful bottle of Portofino Gin. Inspired by the harbour, the colourful design shows the sky and the sea and therefore the beauty of the Italian landscape.
Production and botanicals
A total of 21 botanicals are used in the production of Portofino Gin. Among them juniper, iris root, angelica root, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, lavender, rose, rosemary, marjoram, sage, laurel, sweet fennel, confetti plant, zedoary, chamomile, sambucus, artemisia, caraway, cardamom. Many of these ingredients come from the village of Portofino itself. This summery gin is produced in the Quaglia distillery. There each product is macerated for 7 days in a wheat base. Afterwards this gin is distilled in a copper kettle.
Taste
Portofino Dry Gin presents itself with a perfectly balanced taste experience. Light and dry, it leaves a pleasant sensation in the mouth and on the tongue. Portofino Gin is a blend of citrus, herbal and floral notes. It also surprises with a Mediterranean character and a pleasant warmth in the finish.
