Ledaig 10 YO 0,7L (46,3% Vol.) + GP
Ledaig 10 years
Ledaig 10 years comes from the distillery Tobermory. It is located on the Scottish island of Mull. With this 10-year-old, the distillery has created a smoky single malt whisky that is extremely complex. Its alcohol content is 46.3 % vol. Ledaig 10 YO comes in a beautifully shaped 0.7L bottle.
Nosing
" Have we landed on Islay?" A question that inevitably arises when pouring Ledaig 10 YO. The sweet peat smoke is dominant and reminiscent of whiskies from the legendary Scottish island. But no, it comes from the island of Mull, which is in no way inferior to Islay here and inspires already in the nose with the combination of smoke and malt. In addition there are dates as well as fruity notes and some mint chocolate.
Flavor
The Scotch becomes more exciting after the first sip. On the tongue it is velvety soft, but immediately shows its strong character. Once again the smoke is unmistakable. But the highly complex aroma combination also shows its diversity. Sweet vanilla notes gleam through, indicating its aging in former Bourbon casks. There are also notes of malt and caramel. Peppery tips lend it a further exciting character trait and complete the taste experience with a spicy touch.
Finish
The finish is as smoky as it began in the nose. The long aftertaste is accompanied by peppery spiciness and maritime notes that bring some salt into play. The creation of the Tobermory distillery is a real highlight for lovers of smoky whiskies.
