The House of Laurent-Perrier creates only a few vintage champagnes, for which only the best vintages are selected. To date, only 7 vintages have been marketed
The Alexandra Rosé champagne from 2004 is a delightful salmon color with fine bubbles in the glass. A visual delight in itself! The broad-shouldered bottle with the round label and elegant neck also confirm the elegant impression. The bottle is housed in an exquisite wooden box.
Smell and taste
The vintage sparkling wine presents a complex nose with notes of wild strawberries and redcurrant jam, followed by candied citrus fruit. This elegant sparkling wine is fine and mineral on the palate. It has a soft and dry texture. Its finish is characterized by red fruits.
Production
This prestigious vintage rosé is very rare. All the individual components must be of outstanding quality for its creation: the berries, the acidity, the development and the sugar concentration. Only the best parcels of the Grand Crus of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were selected for his assemblage according to strict guidelines. The Cuvée Alexandra Rosé is made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. In order for this vintage rosé to be created, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay crus must be ripe at the same time.
Despite a rainy and hail-laden spring and summer, the 2004 wine year was able to ensure a good harvest and intensive ripening of the grapes with a dry and warm September. Alexander Rosé matures for at least 10 years. Its ideal serving temperature is 10 to 12 degrees.
Laurent-Perrier
Laurent-Perrier is one of the best-known sparkling wine producers in the Champagne region of France. The Laurent-Perrier style was developed by Bernard Nonancourt, one of the most important champagne players of the 1950s. His aim was to add an elegant aperitif mood to the champagnes of the Laurent-Perrier house. To achieve this, he steadily increased the proportion of Chardonnay in them.
This is why you can still recognize a Laurent-Perrier champagne today by its complex character: citrus fruits, aromas of white fruits, plus notes of toast and cake.
