Laphroaig 10YO Sherry Oak Finish Whisky 0.7L (48% Vol.)
Laphroaig 10YO Sherry Oak Finish Whisky
History
This single malt whisky comes from a distillery in the south of the island of Islay, which is considered the most famous whisky region in the country. When the illegal distilling of alcohol came to an end at the beginning of the 19th century, the brothers Donald and Alexander Johnston founded the distillery named "Laphroaig" at this location. Even today, the distillery is known for its very own style of whisky. The old traditions are also preserved in the production of the Laphroaig 10YO Sherry Oak Finish whisky. For example, the Islay peat is cut by hand and the barley is also malted by hand. This also gives this whisky the very special taste for which Laphroaig is known.
Taste
In the Laphroaig 10YO Sherry Oak Finish whisky, traditional manufacturing history meets a sweet aroma of sherry casks. In 10 years of maturation, this sweet single malt develops a rich aroma with many flavour facets. At the beginning, it spoils the senses with a sweet and peaty taste, which is then replaced by notes of smoked bacon, wax, maple syrup, pine needles and dark chocolate. The finish is long-lasting and spicy, with a delicate taste of chestnut honey.
