Name

For some time now Highland Park has been giving its bottlings special names. Either from Nordic mythology or with reference to the Viking Age. The 12-year-old has been given the addition "Viking Honour" and is supposed to refer to the values of the Vikings. Among them loyalty and independence.

Storage

12 years Highland Park 12 YO matured exclusively in sherry casks. Both firstfill and refill casks from American and European oak have been used for this purpose.

Nosing

Highland Park 12 YO welcomes the whisky lover with full peat and smoke flavors. This first impression is followed by pleasantly sweet aromas. Honey, some citrus, raisin and a charming sherry note as well as some heather reveal themselves. Already at this point, the whisky shows his balanced mixture of tender sweetness and powerful sides.

Taste

The 12-year-old is also highly complex and powerful on the tongue. He is full-bodied and clearly shows that he has matured in sherry casks. A delicate sweetness blends with slightly bitter notes. Notes of honey and citrus fruits meet some malt and unmistakable smoke and peat notes.

Finish

The strong impression, that 12 year old Highland Park leaves behind, is rounded off by a long and soft finish.
