Nosing

The light golden colour gives Craigellachie 13 YO an interesting appearance that is comparatively reserved. The Speyside whisky immediately disproves this impression when nosing. The aromas rise powerfully into the nose, whereby the fruity side dominates above all. Pineapple, mango and citrus fruits meeting smoke and a hint of sulphur.

Taste

On the tongue, Craigellachie 13 YO presents itself soft and somewhat oily. It retains its diverse character. Fruits such as mandarin or orange are once again shown, but also a certain sweetness and a hint of spice notes. On the palate there is also a bit smoke, which rounds off the complex interplay of the individual components.

Finish

The complex impression also remains the dominant strength in the finish. The finish is long lasting and again the Speyside-Single-Malt shows its fruity fresh side. Notes of smoke and wood are also observably.

Bottling

In addition to the 13 YO, the distillery also has a 17-year-old and a 31-year-old. A special feature is that the distillery uses traditional WormTubs, which are rather rare today.
