Canadian Club Classic 12 YO 0.7L (40% Vol.)
Canadian Club Classic 12 YO
Canadian Club Classic 12 YO is one of the most exciting whiskeys from Canada. Unlike many other varieties from the region, it surprises with a mild and fruity character. The blend is combined out of different whiskey varieties and then matures for 12 years, giving the Canadian Club Classic a well-balanced character.
The 12 years old whiskey comes in a 0.7L bottle with an alcohol content of 40 % vol.
The distillery
On closer inspection, it is not surprising that Canadian Club Classic 12 YO has an exceptional position in its home country. The Whiskey originated in the USA, where it was distilled under the name Hiram Walker's Club from 1858 on. Due to the legal situation at that time, the distillery moved to Canada and named him Canadian Club.
Aroma and taste
Not as hot as typical for Canadian Whiskeys, Canadian Club Classic 12 YO is extremely gentle. When nosing it shows an elegant combination of rye, vanilla and a hint of smoke. It retains this elegance on the tongue, but reveals even more variety. An excellent aromatic combination of sweet notes (caramel and creamy coconut) combine with stronger impressions of rye and oak. This is integrated by present fruit notes and spicy hints. Optimally balanced, this results in an exciting creation that is mild but dry at the same time.
Finish
At the end Canadian Club Classic 12 YO remains true to its mild nature for. He finishes for a long time and once again shows an exciting mixture of spices and smoke.
