Bowmore No. 1 0.7L (40% Vol.)
Bowmore No. 1
Bowmore No. 1 is a particularly balanced Islay Single Malt Scotch. The whisky is stored exclusively in First-Fill Bourbon barrels. According to information, the single Malt also spends some time in the time-honored "No.1 Vaults" below sea level and is dedicated to the notorious, 1779 opened warehouse.
Bowmore No. 1 comes in a 0,7L-bottle with 40% vol. without age.
Nosing
After pouring into the tasting glass, Bowmore No. 1 appears smoky. However, the smoke is not too dominant, but rises gently in the nose. This is followed by notes of citrus fruit, some sweetness and a hint of cinnamon.
Taste
At the first sip, smoke and some oak wood dominate again. But also on the tongue the smoky character quickly gives way to the other components that distinguish Bowmore No. 1. On the palate the citrus notes as well as a fine spice palette show up again. Vanilla, a hint of honey and coconut finally bring some sweetness into play and round off the exciting taste experience. Bowmore No. 1 presents itself at all times as an easily accessible Islay whisky, suitable for beginners to connoisseurs.
Finish
The lemon also shows in the nice finish. In any case, Bowmore No. 1 once again proves its strengths in the aftertaste. In addition to the citrus notes, vanilla notes and some peat smoke can also be recognized.
