The Balcones distillery has a special history. It all began with an idea in 2008 and an old welding shop in Texas. Without further ado, the building in Waco was painstakingly converted into a distillery. This is where Balcones Texas True Blue 100 Proof whisky is produced today.

Production and storage

"100 Proof" is a traditional quality feature that the True Blue 100 also follows - 100% of the whisky is produced at the Balcones distillery. The True Blue 100 Proof whiskey matures in the same blue corn casks in which Balcones' True Blue Cask Strength is produced. In principle, Texan distillery teams face particular challenges, as the fluctuating weather affects the maturation process.

Aroma, taste and finish

And a journey of the senses begins: ripe apricots and mango go hand in hand with the aromas of cinnamon, cocoa and dried chillies; some char and oak blend harmoniously with black tea, chocolate and salt on the palate before notes of leather, roasted corn and coffee come to the fore; dry cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate and oak form the finish.

The depth of flavor can be explored neat or diluted with water, which enhances the fruitiness.
